Connect Facebook and Instagram
Authorize the correct Meta business assets, select the intended Facebook Page and professional Instagram account, then verify routing and real message delivery before launch.
Connect the assets first, then configure message handling
Sign in through the supported connection flow as an authorized Meta administrator, approve the intended assets and permissions, select the correct Page and return to ConvoRev. Then choose the AI Agent, entry routes and human queue that should handle each channel. Send real test messages through Facebook Messenger and Instagram before using the connection with customers.
One Meta session can expose several eligible assets
Facebook Messenger and Instagram messaging are authorized through Meta. One connection session can expose the Pages and professional Instagram accounts the administrator is allowed to manage.
Prepare the Page, business portfolio and access
Complete the asset relationship and access checks before opening the authorization window. This prevents a successful login from ending with no eligible Page or Instagram account to select.
The Page is published and ready for business messaging.
Trying to connect a personal profile instead of a Page.
The Meta business portfolio contains or controls the intended Page.
Signing into a different business that cannot see the asset.
A Business or Creator account is linked to the Page when Instagram messaging is required.
Using an unlinked or personal Instagram account.
The person authorizing has the relevant Page, Instagram and messaging permissions.
Assuming account login alone provides asset access.
Map the exact assets you intend to connect
Write down the Facebook Page, professional Instagram account, Meta business portfolio and administrator that belong together. If several Pages or businesses have similar names, use the unique asset details shown in the account—not the name alone.
Correct portfolio
Published asset
Business or Creator
Relevant access
Target account
A published Facebook Page can be connected for Messenger without requiring an Instagram account.
The professional Instagram account should be linked to the intended Page before authorization.
The authorizing person may lack access, be in the wrong business portfolio or have an incomplete asset relationship.
Confirm the intended Page and Instagram account before approving or selecting anything.
Verify the Page selection after authorization
An authorization can appear successful while the ConvoRev account is still waiting for a Page selection. Confirm the final channel status and the exact Page associated with it.
The selected Page matches the planned business asset.
Stop before routing messages and choose the correct Page.
The linked professional account appears when Instagram messaging is required.
Repair the Page relationship and complete a clean authorization retry.
The intended connection shows as available in the correct ConvoRev account.
Check whether selection, permission or authorization remains incomplete.
Only the intended current connection is used for testing.
Close incomplete windows and avoid overlapping retries.
Choose what handles Messenger and Instagram messages
The connection makes a channel available; routing decides what handles its messages. Configure each required channel before testing with a customer-style conversation.
AI Agent
Select the approved Agent that should receive eligible messages when no more specific route applies.
Confirm its knowledge and boundariesEntry routes
Define keywords, triggers or other approved conditions that send conversations to a specific Agent or workflow.
Test both matched and unmatched casesQueue and ownership
Decide where escalations, paused contacts and manual conversations receive a responsible owner.
Preserve context and next actionComment or advertising triggers
Include only the triggers that belong to the approved campaign and current channel setup.
Do not assume connection enables every triggerSend real inbound messages through each connected channel
Use a separate test account that represents a customer. Test Facebook Messenger and Instagram direct messages independently because one can succeed while the other still has an asset, permission or routing problem.

Review access whenever Meta assets or team roles change
Changes to Page access, business ownership, linked accounts, passwords, security settings or permissions can interrupt messaging access.
The authorizing person can lose permission to manage messages or assets.
Current administrators, Page access and connection status.
The Page or Instagram account may move outside the connected portfolio.
Asset ownership, partner access and intended business relationship.
Instagram direct messages can stop reaching the expected Page relationship.
Professional account type and linked Facebook Page.
Password, session or account-protection changes can require renewed authorization.
Complete a clean supported reconnect without sharing codes.
An authorization can depend on access held by someone who no longer works with the business.
Remove former access and confirm continuing administrator coverage.
Authorize through Meta and protect account access
Use the supported authorization window rather than sending credentials to another person. Review access periodically and remove people or partners who no longer need the assets.
Named administrators
Every person uses their own approved Meta identity and receives only the required asset access.
Protected sign-in
Account recovery information and multi-factor security remain current for authorized administrators.
Controlled assets
Pages and professional Instagram accounts belong to the intended business portfolio.
Access review
Former team members and unnecessary partners are removed according to the approved process.
Resolve common connection problems without creating duplicates
Check the business and administrator
Confirm that the authorizing person can manage the Page in the intended business portfolio and has the relevant access.
Check type and Page relationship
Confirm it is a Business or Creator account linked to the selected Facebook Page.
Complete the asset selection
Return to ConvoRev, select the intended Page and confirm that no authorization window remains incomplete.
Review routing, not authorization
Inspect the default Agent, selective entry routes, campaign triggers and human queue for that channel.
Review recent Meta changes
Check Page access, linked accounts, business ownership, passwords, security settings and permission changes.
Close the incomplete session first
Record the selected Page, administrator role, time and error, then make one clean supported retry.
Facebook and Instagram connection questions
Can I connect a personal Facebook profile?
No. The messaging connection uses a published Facebook Page. The authorized person signs in with their own approved Meta identity to grant access to that Page.
Do I need Instagram to connect Facebook Messenger?
No. A published Facebook Page can support Messenger without a linked Instagram account. A linked professional Instagram account is required when Instagram messaging is part of the connection.
What kind of Instagram account is required?
Use a professional Instagram account—a Business or Creator account—linked to the intended Facebook Page.
Why can I sign in but not see the Page?
The Meta identity may be in the wrong business portfolio, lack the relevant Page access or have an incomplete asset relationship. Verify the asset map before retrying.
Does connecting the Page choose the AI Agent?
No. Authorization makes the channel available. You must separately configure the default Agent, selective routes, campaign triggers and human queue.
What should I send support if the connection fails?
Send the ConvoRev account, intended Page, Instagram account when applicable, administrator access level, approximate time, exact error and the completed troubleshooting checks. Never send passwords or security codes.
Send the asset map and exact error
Include the ConvoRev account, intended Facebook Page, professional Instagram account when applicable, Meta business portfolio, administrator access level, approximate time and exact error. Never send passwords, recovery information or temporary security codes.
