From Page inquiry to clear ownership

What the connection does

Connecting a Facebook Page lets eligible Messenger conversations enter the ConvoRev workspace, where an approved AI Agent may respond and a person can review, pause or take over.

01Customer messages the Page

The conversation begins from the connected Page or an approved Messenger entry route.

02Message enters ConvoRev

The eligible thread and contact context reach the intended workspace and queue.

03AI or human responds

The approved Agent may reply, or a person can pause automation and continue manually.

04Next action continues

The customer reaches the approved booking, estimate, application or handoff path.

Connect the business Page—not a personal profile.

A personal Facebook profile may be used to authorize assets when it has appropriate Page access, but the customer-facing Messenger connection belongs to the selected Page.

Verify the customer-facing asset

Confirm Page readiness

Use the published Page customers already recognize. Confirm its business ownership and the person authorized to approve messaging access before opening the connection flow.

Connection targetPublished business Facebook Page

The Page has an accurate identity, receives customer messages and is controlled through the intended business assets.

Not the connection targetPersonal Facebook profile

A profile can hold Page access, but it is not the public business messaging asset customers should contact.

Six preparation checks

Before you connect

Confirm the Page, access owner, response scope and test path before authorization. This reduces the risk of selecting the wrong asset or leaving conversations without a clear owner.

01

Published Facebook Page

Use the active business Page customers already recognize. Confirm its exact name and public URL before authorization.

02

Business ownership

Confirm the Page belongs to—or is controlled through—the intended Meta business portfolio.

03

Authorized administrator

Prepare a person with the Page access required to review assets and approve Messenger permissions.

04

Messaging readiness

Confirm the Page can receive customer messages and that the intended inbox path is operational.

05

Approved Agent and routes

Define which Messenger entry routes, questions, next action and AI Agent behavior are included.

06

Test and handoff owners

Prepare an unrelated Facebook test account and a monitored person or queue for manual conversations.

Secure authorization rule

Use the approved Meta authorization screen. Never email or place Facebook passwords, verification codes, recovery information or secret credentials in general support messages.

Five controlled stages

Complete the connection process

Move from Page verification to private testing in order. If the expected Page or permissions do not appear, stop and resolve ownership instead of connecting a substitute.

Stage01

Confirm the exact Facebook Page

Verify the Page name, public URL, business identity and current customer use. Avoid relying on a similar Page name or an administrator's personal profile.

Stage result

One approved customer-facing Page

Stage02

Review ownership and Page access

Confirm the Meta business portfolio and the person authorized to approve messaging access. Resolve missing, partial or outdated access before continuing.

Stage result

A verified Page and access owner

Stage03

Complete secure Meta authorization

Open the supported authorization screen, select the correct Page and approve only the messaging access required for the connection.

Stage result

Approved Messenger access

Stage04

Configure the response route

Assign the correct ConvoRev workspace, AI Agent, all or selected entry routes, human queue and notification destination.

Stage result

A complete Messenger response path

Stage05

Run private end-to-end tests

Use an unrelated Facebook account to verify the customer experience, contact record, AI behavior, human handoff and manual reply path.

Stage result

A documented release decision

Scope each customer entry

Choose the Messenger routes in scope

Decide whether the first release includes every supported Page entry or only selected routes. Test each included route in its real customer context.

01

Direct Page message

A customer opens Messenger from the Facebook Page and starts a new conversation.

02

Existing eligible thread

A customer replies in an existing supported conversation and the message returns to the correct thread.

03

Approved campaign route

A click-to-Messenger advertisement or other campaign entry is tested only when it is included in the approved setup.

04

Post or comment context

Monitoring or follow-up tied to Page content is enabled only when supported, deliberately scoped and contextually appropriate.

Context rule

Do not treat a comment, post interaction or advertisement click as permission for unrelated messaging. Keep the reply connected to the customer's original action and the approved use case.

Define automation and human ownership

Route the shared inbox and AI Agent

A connected Page is ready only when each included entry route reaches the correct workspace, response behavior, next action and human owner.

Connected PageEligible Messenger conversation
Entry scopeAll or selected approved routes
WorkspaceCorrect shared inbox
AI behaviorApproved Agent and boundaries
EscalationHuman conditions and queue owner
AvailabilityActive hours and pause rules
Next actionApproved customer destination
Routing standard

The receiving person should know why a handoff occurred, see the useful conversation context and be able to continue without asking the customer to restart.

Test from outside the Page team

Private verification checklist

Use an unrelated Facebook account and verify the complete customer journey for every Messenger route included in the first release.

01

External new message

Start a Messenger conversation from a Facebook account unrelated to the Page's business assets.

02

Contact and queue

Confirm the message creates or updates the intended contact and reaches the correct shared inbox or queue.

03

Approved FAQ

Ask a common question and confirm the AI Agent uses current approved knowledge.

04

Unknown question

Ask something outside the knowledge base and verify the Agent does not invent an answer.

05

Human request

Ask for a person or trigger another approved handoff condition and verify the receiving owner gets useful context.

06

Manual reply

Pause the AI Agent and confirm a person can continue the conversation without competing responses.

07

Included content route

If enabled, test the exact advertisement, post or comment-related route using real customer context.

Release gate

Do not move to normal customer traffic while messages are missing, the wrong queue receives conversations, the AI Agent invents answers or manual takeover creates competing replies.

Preserve deliberate human control

Verify manual takeover

The handoff path should pause automated responses before a person continues the Messenger conversation.

01

Trigger the handoff

Use an unknown question, explicit human request, complaint or other approved escalation condition.

02

Confirm context arrives

Verify the receiving person can see the relevant Page, contact and conversation information.

03

Pause and reply

Confirm the AI Agent stops and a person can respond without duplicate or competing messages.

04

Return deliberately

Resume AI handling only when the conversation is suitable and the approved return process is followed.

Platform-controlled behavior

Allow for Meta-controlled differences

Message eligibility, formats, permissions and Page capabilities can vary by current Meta rules and customer context. Confirm the actual behavior of the connected Page instead of assuming every Messenger interaction works identically.

Formats

Test common content

Review the text, image, attachment and other message types customers are expected to send.

Entry context

Match the original action

Keep Page, advertisement, post and comment-related replies tied to the approved customer context.

Permissions

Use required access only

Review Page access when administrators, agencies or business ownership changes.

Current-state rule

Meta controls its own Page access, messaging permissions, eligible message behavior and restrictions. Verify current platform requirements before expanding the release.

Controlled launch

Use these launch safeguards

01

Begin with one Page

Stabilize one customer-facing Page, one approved use case and one next action before expanding.

02

Start with selected routes

Include only the Messenger entries required for the first release and add others after testing.

03

Monitor early threads

Review real answers, contact mapping, queue ownership, handoffs and next actions.

04

Keep knowledge current

Update approved pricing, availability, policies and processes before the Agent relies on them.

05

Avoid reconnect loops

Preserve the exact symptom and investigate ownership, permissions or routing before removing the connection.

06

Review Page access

Reconfirm administrators and required permissions when team members or business assets change.

Diagnose before reconnecting

Troubleshooting

Identify whether the issue involves Page ownership, access, authorization, routing or message eligibility before repeating the connection.

01

The intended Page is not listed

Confirm the authorizing person has the required access and that the Page is available in the intended Meta business portfolio.

02

The wrong Page appears

Stop before approval. Recheck the administrator, business ownership and Page selection rather than connecting a similar asset.

03

New Messenger messages do not appear

Confirm the selected Page, messaging permission, intended workspace and a fresh test from an unrelated Facebook account.

04

The AI Agent does not respond

Check the assigned Agent, selected entry routes, active hours, pause state, human takeover and message eligibility.

05

A format or content route behaves differently

Confirm the message format and entry context are supported by current Meta behavior and included in the approved setup.

When contacting support, include
  • Facebook Page name and URL
  • Approximate test time
  • Entry route tested
  • Expected and actual result
  • Screenshots without secrets
