The goal
What this session should accomplish
The first 30 minutes are for reducing uncertainty. You are defining the smallest useful conversation ConvoRev can prepare, test and supervise—not trying to turn on every possible feature.
- Who starts the conversation
- What they need help with
- What the AI Agent may use
- What next action is appropriate
- When a person takes over
A narrow brief gives the implementation a stable foundation. It also makes testing more meaningful because everyone can judge the AI Agent against the same intended purpose.
Set up the session
Before you start the timer
Open a blank note or working document and invite the person who knows the customer journey well enough to approve the answers. You do not need every stakeholder in the room.
A real conversation
Use a common inquiry your team already receives—not a hypothetical use case created only for the AI Agent.
An accountable decision-maker
Include someone who can confirm approved claims, policies, next actions and escalation expectations.
Live channel activation
Do not expose a new configuration to normal contacts before the knowledge, boundaries and test scenarios are ready.
Every future possibility
Additional channels and workflows can be added after the first conversation path is reliable.
Six focused blocks
Your minute-by-minute plan
Spend roughly five minutes on each decision. If one question requires deeper research, mark it for follow-up instead of filling the gap with an assumption.
Choose
Select one starting conversation
Choose a repeatable customer moment that already matters: a service question, product-selection request, appointment inquiry, estimate request or another defined inbound conversation.Define
Name the primary next action
Decide what an appropriate successful conversation should lead toward. Examples include a booking, qualified estimate request, application, purchase path or informed human handoff.Source
Identify the approved knowledge
List the current pages, documents and FAQs the AI Agent may use. Mark information that needs confirmation instead of treating assumptions or team memory as settled fact.Limit
Set answer and action boundaries
Define what the AI Agent should not guess, promise or decide. Note the sensitive, unusual or high-risk situations that should move to a person.Own
Choose the human owner
Decide who will review early activity, receive escalations and correct outdated information. A useful handoff needs a real destination and a response expectation.Record
Write the brief and choose the next step
Capture the five decisions in one place. Then continue into guided onboarding or the quick-start checklist instead of connecting everything at once.Unknown pricing, policies, service areas, availability or qualifications should be verified before they become approved knowledge.
Approved information
What to gather for the next step
You do not need to upload everything during this session. Identify the smallest set of current sources that can answer the first use case accurately.
Business basics
- Locations and service areas
- Business and response hours
- Approved contact information
- Human escalation destination
Offer information
- Relevant products or services
- Current pricing rules or quote process
- Eligibility and qualification requirements
- Availability or fulfillment limits
Customer guidance
- Frequently asked questions
- Policies and important exceptions
- Booking, estimate or application steps
- Approved claims and prohibited claims
Conversation evidence
- Common inbound questions
- Past examples with private details removed
- Reasons customers hesitate
- Situations your team already escalates
Prefer current, client-approved pages, policies, documents and decisions. A large volume of mixed or outdated content is less useful than a small set of reliable sources.
One-page template
Write the first-release brief
Complete these six lines in plain language. This becomes a useful starting point for guided onboarding and agent configuration.
The conversation starts when…Describe the customer, channel or triggering situation.
The customer usually needs…Name the question, decision or problem.
The AI Agent may answer from…List the approved source pages, documents or FAQs.
The primary next action is…Choose the booking, estimate, application, purchase path or handoff.
The AI Agent must hand off when…List ambiguity, exceptions, sensitive issues or high-risk decisions.
The human owner is…Name the person, role or monitored team destination.
“When a website visitor asks whether a service is available in their area, the AI Agent may use the approved service-area and service-detail pages, collect the basic project information and guide a suitable visitor toward an estimate request. Unusual scope, complaints and urgent safety concerns go to the operations team.”
Protect the first release
What not to do in the first session
Do not import everything you can find.
Unreviewed content can introduce contradictions, expired details and unsupported claims.
Do not fill missing facts with assumptions.
Create a verification list for anything that is uncertain, especially pricing, policies and availability.
Do not activate every channel.
Choose the first customer context before expanding the technical scope.
Do not automate exceptions by default.
Sensitive, unusual or high-risk situations should have a clear human path.
Do not release before testing.
Normal, ambiguous, difficult and out-of-scope questions should be evaluated first.
The finish line
Your first session is complete when…
- ✓You selected one starting conversation.
- ✓You defined one appropriate next action.
- ✓You identified the approved source material.
- ✓You documented answer and action boundaries.
- ✓You named the human owner and escalation destination.
- ✓You recorded open questions instead of guessing.
At this point, you have a focused brief—not a live deployment. The next guides help turn that brief into a prepared, tested release.
