THE FIRST PRIVATE REPLY

CONVOREV AI AGENT Thanks for your interest! I’m ConvoRev’s AI agent. What does your business offer?

Sample dialogue, not a customer transcript. The prospect must reply to the private message before the conversation continues.
What is Facebook comment-to-DM?

A public comment becomes an invitation to talk privately.

Comment-to-DM connects a qualifying comment on a configured Facebook Page post with a private Messenger reply. Once the person responds, your agent can continue the conversation.

  1. Make a clear invitation.

Give people a relevant reason to comment a keyword: explore an offer, request details, or experience a demo.

  2. Send the private reply.

A matching comment triggers the configured first message. Explain why you’re reaching out and ask an easy question.

  3. Continue after they reply.

The agent answers questions and learns what the prospect needs within the permitted messaging window.

  4. Guide the next step.

Help a suitable prospect request an estimate, book, apply, explore a product, or reach your team.

The first reply matters. A comment permits an initial private reply; it does not authorize an unlimited message sequence. Make that first message useful and give the person a reason to respond.

Answer the question before the application

Some prospects need a conversation before they commit.

“Do you serve my area?” “Would this work for my business?” “What happens after I apply?”

A person can be interested in your offer and still hesitate to complete a form. A private conversation lets them ask what matters to them.

Your agent can explain the offer, gather useful context, and help the prospect decide what to do next. When a person is needed, your team can take over.

Landing pages and forms still have a role. This approach adds a conversational step for people who need help before booking, applying, or buying.

Test the approach against your actual goal: qualified opportunities and sales.

An example from our work

Dealer conversations that led to new sales.

A company serving both B2B and B2C customers wanted to recruit businesses into its dealer program.

Interested prospects had questions before completing an application. Our comment-to-DM approach gave them a way to explore the opportunity privately.

The approach drove revenue through new dealer sales.

It reinforced a practical lesson: answering a prospect’s questions can help them move toward a decision.

This anonymized deployment is a specific example, not a forecast. Results depend on the audience, offer, setup, and follow-through.

Start focused

One offer. One keyword. One useful next step.

Begin with a clear customer journey, then use real conversations to improve it.

What your business brings

  • A Facebook Page with the access needed to connect messaging.
  • A relevant offer and a clear reason for someone to respond.
  • Approved answers about your services, products, policies, and pricing.
  • A definition of a qualified lead and the action you want that person to take.
  • A human contact for questions and opportunities that need your team.

What we configure together

  • The selected post, keyword, and comment trigger.
  • The public acknowledgment and initial private reply.
  • The agent’s business knowledge and qualification questions.
  • The destination for bookings, applications, or human handoffs.
  • A live test of the trigger and conversation before broader promotion.

Using paid promotion? Confirm that the exact post or ad format is supported and its comments reach the configured trigger before investing in distribution. A messaging ad that opens Messenger directly is a different entry point.

Common questions

Before you launch.

Does someone need to reply to the first private message?

Yes. The initial private reply is an invitation to engage. The ongoing conversation begins when the person responds. Further messaging must stay within the applicable permissions and messaging window.

Do I need a paid Facebook campaign?

No. You can start with engagement on an eligible Facebook Page post. Paid promotion is a separate distribution decision; confirm the exact setup before spending.

Can the agent message everyone who follows my Page?

This playbook is based on people commenting on configured posts. It is not a method for automatically sending cold private messages to all Page followers.

Is this the same as a click-to-Messenger ad?

No. Comment-to-DM starts with a public comment and an initial private reply. A click-to-Messenger ad directs someone into Messenger. Both can support conversations, but they need different entry-point configurations.

Will it work better than sending people to a landing page?

That depends on your offer, audience, and customer journey. Conversations can help people who have questions before committing. Compare qualified leads and commercial results rather than assuming one approach will always win.

Can my team take over?

Yes. Define when the agent should hand off, who receives the opportunity, and what information they need to continue.

Does the demo on this page test the Facebook trigger?

No. The website widget lets you experience a ConvoRev AI conversation. Testing the Facebook trigger requires a connected Page, an active configuration, and a new qualifying comment.
